The rise of women to management is a reality at AGS

It comes as no surprise that positions of authority and decision-making are still not accessible to women. More women are entering the work market, and despite this, most managerial positions are still held by men.

The conditions within the AGS Group allow for equality of opportunities, and this has enabled women to occupy strategic positions.

There are many examples of women in the hierarchy of authority within the Group. Special attention is given to those women who have achieved Branch Director status.

The first woman under the spotlight is Anne-Marie Guirourd-Aizee. Having joined AGS Martinique in 1985 as an Administrative Assistant, Anne-Marie was appointed as Administrative Manager of AGS Marseille in 1989. In 1998, Anne-Marie was promoted to Administrative Director of the southern region of France.

From 2003 to 2005, Anne-Marie was entrusted with several work assignments of importance within our AGS

African network. In May 2005, Anne-Marie was appointed as Branch Director of AGS Mayotte. After two successful years Anne-Marie has, in January 2007, succeeded Pierre Hotz, a recent retiree, as the new Branch Director of AGS Tahiti. Anne-Marie dedicates an enormous amount of her time and energy to the company, and she is also a mother who enjoys DIY projects at home.

Another success story is that of Annie Bourgeois. Before joining the AGS Group, Annie was a Management Assistant who was responsible for Marketing in France, Chad and Martinique. In 1990, Annie joined the AGS Group as a Director’s Assistant in Mayotte until 1996. Thereafter, Annie went to Cameroon, and stayed there from 1997 to 1999, after which she arrived in Togo. Ever since June 2002, Annie has been successful in managing the AGS Frasers Togo branch.   Annie   enjoys

travelling (she dreams of adding Kilimanjaro to her list of conquests), sports, reading and going to the movies.

The AGS Group also counts among its ranks Anabela Brites, who is the Branch Director of AGS Lisbon since February 2007. Born in Portugal, Anabela studied in France, then spent a year in England, followed by another year and a half in Germany in order to improve her foreign language skills, before returning to her home country in 1994. In 1996, Anabela joined AGS and was part of the creation and development of AGS Lisbon, and following her   impeccable   professional   journey,   has  assumed

the position of Branch Director for AGS Lisbon.

Ingrid Lamblin, of Hungaro-French origin, returned to Hungary and began her career in the international transport industry 16 years ago. In 2001, Ingrid joined the AGS Group as a sales representative. Ingrid is fluent in French, English, Hungarian, Spanish, and speaks a bit of Arabic and German. Ingrid was promoted to Branch Manager of AGS Budapest on 1st April 2007, and has a wealth of experience in the removals and relocations industry.

Ingrid’s motivation stems from her willingness to help people, and she is actively involved in several charity organisations in Budapest. More recently, Ingrid devotes much of her free time to raising her two children, a little girl 4½ years of age, and a little boy only 23 months old.

Macedonian born Marija Angelova studied Languages and International Business in Skopje, in conjunction with the University of Rennes, in France. Marija speaks fluent French, English, Italian, Bulgarian, Serbian, and a bit of Romanian, Greek and Spanish. Marija joined the AGS Group in 2004 as a sales representative, where she learned every aspect of the removals industry.

For two consecutive years from 2005, Marija attained 4th and 5th place at the AGS Europe network Sales Contest. Marija’s dynamism, thirst for knowledge and strong capacity to adapt, all amounted to her nomination as Director of AGS Skopje on August 1st 2007.

Other well deserving women within the AGS Group have assumed the responsibilities of Branch Directors, such as Bettina Priilaid in Namibia, Chantal Robert, first in Mauritania and  now in Rabat (Morocco), Jocelyne Mulera in Tanzania and Venus Havenga in Lesotho.

All of these outstanding women have been noted for their competencies and dynamism. These women have contributed immensely to the company, and this was immediately recognised.

The transport industry is tough, and at AGS, we are delighted to see that women are succeeding brilliantly.

Once again, well done Ladies!

AGS invests in 500 new European Liftvans

In view of growing intra-European traffic, and in line with AGS’s policy of continual improvement of the quality of our service, we have invested in 500 additional European liftvans.

The size of the European Liftvan is ideal (10m³) for urban environment as these can be loaded onto small 3.5 ton trucks, and allow for easy access to the client’s residence, even in narrow streets where a conventional carrier cannot pass through.

The client’s personal goods are loaded at origin and unloaded at destination directly at the client’s home. The European Liftvan is  sealed in  the presence of  the

client, who is able to check that the seal is intact at delivery.

The European Liftvan was designed for use on conventional carriers for delivery to AGS destination branches. Transit times are largely reduced because each consignment is sent directly to the final destination. Our service quality has also improved as a result of the use of European Liftvans, as we have minimised the multiple handling of boxes and therefore risk of damages.

Lastly, delivery is performed by a team from the AGS destination branch, which is fit and ready to offer a consistently high quality of service.

The European Liftvan has been designed for use by individual clients only and it simplifies customs procedures, as each European Liftvan is treated as a single customs unit.

If a client’s move is delayed, or if his residence is not available, the goods are securely stored and sealed in our warehouses.

The environment also benefits from this concept as we are minimising the number of empty trucks on the roads while using conventional carriers, therefore reducing the emission of gases which contribute to the greenhouse effect.

AGS Four Winds present at the Human Resources Summit in Singapore

AGS Four Winds Singapore participated, for the very first time, as an exhibitor at the HR Summit 2007 Talent and Workplace Strategies Expo.

The HR Summit, now in its fifth year, took place at the Convention and Exhibition center, Suntec, in Singapore, and is the largest gathering of industry professionals

in the region and the only event of this nature and magnitude in Asia.

The Summit allowed the AGS Four Winds team the opportunity to meet Human Resource professionals & business leaders from across the globe. This summit, gathering over thirty leading international speakers and about ninety solution providers, is also a unique opportunity to swap contacts with peers.

The AGS Four Winds exhibition stand was strategically located for maximum exposure. During this two day event, AGS Four Wind’s representatives gave out brochures and other corporate gifts to more than 2000 Human Resource professionals.

The AGS Four Winds exhibition stand was adorned with striking AGS Four Winds

banners, as well as a television screen which displayed the AGS presentation to all visitors at our exhibition stand.

Together with a massage equipment manufacturer, we sponsored a ‘Sit back, relax and enjoy corner! AGS Four Winds, you deserve the best!’ With the AGS ”Zen Attitude” Television campaign movie back-drop, we offered our visitors a moment of relaxation while demonstrating luxurious massage equipment.

At the closing of the Exhibition, AGS Four Winds held a lucky draw from the name cards that were collected, and the Human Resource Manager of S.T. Microelectronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, won the top prize, a massage appliance.

A special thanks is owing to the AGS Four Winds team for their excellent work done during this event, for sending out the pre-event invites, organizing the logistics, welcoming people at the exhibition stand, and following up on contacts and information requests after the event.

AGS Four Winds, a constant presence at the side of the international community

The French International School in Hong Kong organises a fair every year in June. This year the event took place on Saturday 9th June. The fair represents the end of the school semester and the start of the summer holidays for both students and teachers.

AGS Four Winds Hong Kong participated in the fair, and Amine Loukia, the Corporate Sales Manager, represented the company from an AGS Four Winds exhibition stand. Leaflets and corporate gifts were distributed to many, and much interest was shown by a number of prospective transferees who expressed an interest in the dynamics of relocating. Amine Loukia offered advice to interested parties, and assured them of our exceptional service standards and professionalism.

Complimentary corporate gifts were given out, such as bags, pens, colouring books, toys and balloons, and these stirred up much excitement for everyone at the fair. Many people displayed their interest by visiting the AGS Four Winds exhibition stand, and most were thrilled to receive information with regards to AGS Four Winds’ Services.

The number of attendees at the fair this year exceeded 500 people, and AGS Four Winds Hong Kong’s representative, Amine Loukia, was available during the course of the entire day to answer any questions from parents and staff, who requested information and advice regarding relocations.
